Mission Statement
Every individual and every business has a mission statement whether they write it down or not. What is it that makes us unique... makes us competent... makes us tick?
At 46 years of age, I have spent over half of my life honing my skills to be a great real estate professional... I just didn't realize it until early this year. I had a double-major in college of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. I was the youngest person ever hired at the time for a major regional insurance company. Sigh, I even worked as a telemarketer for a solar energy company. I have worked in the hospitality industry and was a field representative for a mortgage banker/broker. I have worked for myself and others as a computer programmer. I have been a computer technician and owned a chain of computer stores. I even owned a gift shop in a major college town. I was selling collectibles in an auction format online before eBay existed. I was a business consultant and helped a company go public. I owned a small resort on the river.
Through all my journeys of successful business ventures and not quite as successful business ventures, the one constant became my attention to detail and my constant striving to achieve the pinnacle of customer service. When I made a change of careers, I was drawn to the need for greater choice in how real estate transactions are conducted in Jackson County. For Sale By Owner signs were popping up everywhere. I zeroed in on a discount real estate model as the coming wave of the future. I am so happy my research and my gut instincts led me to Assist-2-Sell. As I sat in my seat during training in Reno, I absorbed the wisdom of Lyle and Mary and had a surrealistic vision of my future. Everything in my life up to this point has had a purpose. I gained the skills, the temperament and the compassion to be able to formulate a mission statement for this next phase of my life:
I will educate and guide the public to the best of my abilities. I will accept the huge responsibility of taking part in the most important transactions of their lives and never lose sight of the fact of how reliant people are on my actions and inactions. I will treat colleagues and associates with respect. By acting in a competent and ethical manner, I will ultimately serve my family, my community and myself. As serious as this role is, I will instill humor into my surroundings every chance I get and bring a smile to those I encounter in my daily duties.
This is who and what I am. In the coming days, months and years you will learn more about myself and I will share tips, insights and timely information to you as you need it. I would love your feedback, so let me know when something is especially helpful or what you would like to see in the future.
